Ukiah CA song called "95482" by Chon Travis of Loose Change

He's kinda turning into the modern day Charley Pride of country punk acoustic rock. Kinda hokey fun.

Origins of Rock n Roll

This is Ike Turner's song with this guys name on it. The riff is used by Little Richard later in Good Golly Miss Molly. This is possibly as old as rock n roll gets. I've been really studying the origins of rock lately. The originators, Fats Domino, Bo Diddley, Ike Turner, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Ray Charles and The Coasters.

Elvis' Sad Demise....

The King. At the bitter end. This video is really sad. You can really get a feel for Elvis' emptiness at the end of his life.....
MJ must have been in about the same place.

Ma and Pa Kettle Math

Fun video I saw today in Ed 531, which confused half the class. I feel like I would love to use this video for now and eternity when teaching math. Great opening video for teaching Basic Math. The problem with ma and pa in every example is a fundamental misconception about place value. They keep using a 1 as 1, when the value is actually 1 ten. Place value error. Its a math thing. this video is awesome though. Thanks Dr. Eiffler.

TOTAL BUMMER! Seeds lead singer dies and no one knows!!!!!!!

THE SEEDS

This truly reminds me of the day Darby decided to OD, the same day John Lennon was assassinated. Talk about becoming a footnote. Anywho the Seeds were totally amazing and the lead singer Sky Saxon apparently died the same day MJ kicked it. Here is a little tribute for those not aware of the awesome garage rock of the Seeds. (See Nugget collection)

The Toys - A Lover's Concerto

This song is referenced in Mr. Holland's Opus, which I watched today at U of P. Apparently its an early example of "sampling" in this case from Bach's classical song, basing the melody on the familiar "Minuet in G major" (BWV Anh. 114) from J.S. Bach's Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. One key difference is that the "Minuet in G major" is written in 3/4 time, whereas "A Lover's Concerto" is arranged in 4/4 time. Early Hip Hop or should I say Doo Wop????
