Os Mutantes
Brazil's very own tropicalia answer to the 60's psychedelic US sound, Os Mutantes. Just listen to that fuzzed out rift.
It makes 13th Floor Elevators or The Chocolate Watchband seem not so foreign. I love this track.
(Yes, I'm still completely obsessed with 60's psych and soul)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the props for Lyster Lower. I was just happy to be along for the ride with those guys. And I really only had like one thrift store T-shirt, which I wore to every gig. :)
The pirate band was the Schlemeltones. I've thought about doing a YouTube for that too. It was me and the guy who played guitar in Lyster Lower, so we were the built-in opening act. Heh heh.
I totally remember Obvious Intentions - that was great! You are a great ska vocalist.
